The file system you see now is pretty much what I invisioned back when i first proposed to do this project. The time between then and now has been somewhat of a roller coaster. Ive kind of settled down a bit and can relax. What is wonderful about this file system is that a) multiple users can add to the database and b) it autocreates thumbnails and the like. I dont forsee the development and discussion of 3rd party products shifting to this site, and that is why I have decided not to add any forums (for now). There is a wonderful module which would facilitate that, but again, I get the general feeling from the community's responses that they would like to continue their discussions in the HI Forums and that me creating a place do so would be a waste of my time. I have not added images to the files because the file system uses the GD Image library to resize and edit images. What that means is that if you want good quality images, you need to specify the jpg quality of your new images. The creators of the site's file script did not do this, so the GD Library uses its default settings: 75%. While for most that is acceptable, I personally hate it. Im currently working on getting that fixed. Once I have, Ill be sure to upload all the pictures. Some of you may notice that some of the files dont have proper credits: if you know the credits, please send them to me. I do want to give as much credit as possible, but I also dont want a lack of credits to prevent files from being hosted. If credits came with it, Im sure to post them with the file. Because the file script can faciliate multiple users, I am looking for users who want to add files to the database. I know that there are a ton of files out there. The amount of files on this site is only the tip of the ice berg. I feel that the best way to get files from those who have them it to allow them to add files to the site themselves. Having to go through me everytime the want to add a file is slow and cumbersome to a point where people just dont want to deal with that. They'd rather just not add files.
